A HEROIN addict has been jailed after she persuaded a stranger to let her into their home and stole cash from them.

Rema Thompson, of Parry Street, had originally pleaded not guilty to two offences and was due to go on trial today at Preston Crown Court.

The 39-year-old was accused of stealing Jack Daniels worth £150 from Morrisons in Barrow on September 15 of this year.

She was also accused of stealing £140 from a homeowner in Raglan Court after knocking on the door and being allowed into the property.

She pleaded guilty today and was jailed for 13 months after the court heard she had a string of similar previous convictions.

In 2013 Thompson and her lover were jailed after they were caught using a "honey trap" racket using sex to steal more than £17,000 from vulnerable middle aged and elderly men in Barrow.

Then in 2014, she was jailed for 21 months for dealing crack cocaine and last July she was jailed for 13 weeks after intimidated a pensioner into handing over £240 in cash.
