Askam beach
A GUIDED picnic walk taking in Askam beach is happening this weekend.
John Murphy will lead the walk to Dunnerholme beach this Sunday.
The meeting place is Askam train station at 1pm. The walk takes in the fringes of the Duddon Estuary with a stunning backdrop of the Lakeland fells.
The group will stop off at Dunnerholme to eat. Mr Murphy will explain about fossilisation on the beach. The walk will then go back along the lanes to the station.
It is a five mile round walk and the group should be back at the station for around 4.30pm.
Suitable footwear is needed.
The event follows Mr Murphy's popular guided walk to Piel which took place last weekend.
