IT was a win, win, win situation for three top spaniels and their owners as they took part in the biggest dog show in the world last weekend.

Competing against top international dogs, Tom and Jane Graham's spaniels, Daisy, Joules and Lenny all won their classes at the world-famous Crufts.

After leaving at 3.13am on Friday to make the trip to the NEC in Birmingham, Tom and Jane were two tired but very happy owners when they arrived back at their Askam home at 8.30pm that night.

The couple's 12-and-a-half-year-old Sussex spaniel Daisy won best veteran bitch in her breed against three others, while 14-month-old Welsh springer spaniel Lenny took top place in the junior springer dog for his breed.

This was despite it being the youngster's first trip to Crufts and coming up against 12 other dogs.

To top it off Joules, two, made it two in a row at the show winning best yearling bitch in her breed, beating 12 others to take top position. At Crufts last year Joules won best in breed (puppy).

Mr and Mrs Graham are highly experienced judges, dogs handlers and breeders. Mr Graham said: "Crufts this year was everything you expected it to be, big and busy but the dogs weren't phased at all.

"We are very pleased that all three won and now will see how the two young ones develop. You never know with dogs, but we are happy.

"They were all fine in the ring and even though it was Lenny's first time he wasn't bothered by all the excitement.

Jane showed Daisy and Lenny while I handled Joules. It was a long day and we had a few aches and pains after standing around for so long, but it was worth it. The dogs were fine, they slept all the way there and all the way back."
