A STUDY has found adults in the UK consume more calories from alcohol than sugary drinks like cola and lemonade.
Analysis by Euromonitor International discovered that the average daily number of calories a British adult gets from alcoholic drinks to be 106 calories. This compares with 98 from sugar-sweetened drinks.

The findings may surprise many people but one large glass of wine contains around 230 calories, roughly the same as a chocolate bar or two packets of crisps.
