M6 northbound between junction 42 and 43 near Carlisle
AN accident on the M6 in South Cumbria has seen a car go into the central reservation and a van end up on the hard shoulder.
One lane of the motorway has been closed and there is heavy congestion following the accident which took place sometime before 5:30pm this evening.
The incident happened on the northbound section of the motorway between junction 35 at Carnforth and junction 36 at Kirkby Lonsdale.
