Oxford is the second most desirable place to live in the UK, according to a new study.

The study, conducted by Fabulous Bingo, aimed to uncover the most sought-after locations based on average property prices over the past year and Google search volume.

Cambridge topped the list, followed by Oxford and Reading in joint second, with Watford in third.

Oxford secured second place with a Google search volume of 165,000 and property prices averaging £589,944 over the past 12 months.

The city's appeal extends beyond its world-renowned academic reputation, providing a vibrant community and an abundance of green spaces.

Cambridge topped the rankings with an annual average property price of £596,543 and a search volume of 201,000 - higher than anywhere else.

Living in Cambridge provides a mix of historical and modern attractions, providing access to leading educational institutions, a vibrant culture, and scenic landscapes.

Joint-second placed Reading reported an average property price of £425,999.

Third-placed Watford, with an average property price of £515,848 and search volume of 135,000, offers residents the benefit of close proximity to London alongside a more affordable cost of living.

The South East was the most popular area featuring in the report, appearing 35 times.

London was a close runner-up with 33 appearances, while the East, which came in third, was mentioned 17 times.
