A SECTION of a road in the Lake District will close for 4 days for utility works.

A section of the A5075, Borrans Road in Ambleside will be closed from its junction with the A593, extending in a southerly direction for approximately 400 meters.

The works are set to be carried out by Openreach, anticipated to start on May 10 and take up to 4 days to complete.

The road will be closed between 9pm and 6.30am daily.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available.

An alternative route for southbound traffic can be found via the A593, Rothay Road, Compston Road, Rydal Road (A591), Market Place, Lake Road and the unrestricted section of Borrans Road.

An alternative route for northwestbound traffic can be found via the unrestricted sections of Borrans Road (A5075), Lake Road (A591), Wansfell Road (A591) and Rothay Road (A593).

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained where required for the duration of these works.
