A NEW restaurant in town has been handed a new food hygiene rating.

Dodona Sandwich Bar, a restaurant, at 184 Dalton Road, in Barrow was given a score of four out of five food hygiene rating after an assessment on March 25, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

The area was inspected by a Westmorland and Furness inspector.

The hygienic food handling, including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage was found to be 'generally satisfactory'.

The cleanliness and condition of facilities and building including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control to enable good food hygiene were found to be 'very good'.

The management of food safety was also found to be 'very good'.

It means that of Westmorland and Furness's 666 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 554 (83%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
