A SECTION of the A595 is set to close for 20 days for council works.
A section of the A595 from Waberthwaite to Bootle will be closed while Cumberland Council works are carried out. This is anticipated to start on April 29 and take up to twenty days to complete.
The road will be closed from 8pm until 6am daily.
An alternative route can be found via the unrestricted section of the A595, A5092, A591 and A66.
An alternative route for vehicles exceeding 7.5 tonnes maximum gross weight (HGV’s) and vehicles exceeding 6’6” in width can be found via the A595, A5092, M6 (if permitted) and A66.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
