BAY Search and Rescue confirmed that a body found in Bolton-le-Sands after a long search and rescue was a missing man from Morecambe.
A spokesperson from both the search and rescue and Lancaster area Police confirmed that the body was Edward Proctor, a 73-year-old man from Morecambe who was missing.
The body was found on a beach on the evening of Sunday April 21.
Bay Search and Rescue were involved in a multi-agency search for the missing man, involving the police and coastguard teams.
The spokesperson added: "Our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time."
