PLANS to add more car parking spaces at a business centre in the Lake District have been given the green light.

The Lake District National Park Authority has approved a planning application from Matson Ground Estate Company Ltd to add 10 parking spaces to a car park at Low House Business Centre off Lickbarrow Road, near Bowness.

According to plans there are eight office units, and the additional parking space will be used for meetings and to accommodate deliveries.

Planning documents state: “Since the development of the business centre in 2014 we have found the parking area undersized.

“While the requirement for parking varies with the gradual turnover of tenants, there is a regular requirement for additional spaces.”

“We want to be sure that the lack of parking does not deter potential tenants and will not ever require parking in the adjacent residential area or at the side of the lane”, planning documents add.

The Lake District National Park Authority approved the application on April 18
