Ford Park in Ulverston has received an 'amazing' donation that will help its team of volunteers.

It was revealed on Tuesday that the park had been given £8,200 by the Foyle Foundation.

A spokesperson commented: "The grant will help to fund our inclusive Volunteer Programme which has more than 27 regular, weekly volunteers from all walks of life, who work extremely hard in all weathers.

"Without our volunteers and the wonderful organisations who support us, we would be unable to maintain the park for our community and visitors to enjoy."

The Foyle Foundation was set up in May 2000 to implement 25 years of giving as per the will of the late Christina Foyle.

"Everyone at Ford Park would like to thank the dedicated team of trustees for their kind donation.

"Our team and our volunteers were thrilled when they heard the news."

If you would also like to support the volunteers, you can make a donation here.
