CUMBRIA Wildlife Trust is celebrating the first egg of the season being laid by the Foulshaw Ospreys.
During a storm at 1.07am on Monday, April 14 Blue 35 laid an egg at Foulshaw Moss Nature Reserve near Witherslack.
She arrived in Cumbria on March 28, a few days after her partner White YW, and she had to ward off an interloper from their nest.
This year marks their tenth of travelling every year from West Africa to the same tree on the nature reserve. Blue 35 and White YW travel to Cumbria for the summer to lay their eggs. They usually lay three eggs per season and if all of this year's cohort survive it may mean that the ospreys will raise their 30th chick from their Foulshaw nest.
The wildlife trust live stream the nest from a web cam.
