SUCCESS is blossoming for an Ulverston woman who is expanding her business to Manchester.

Hannah Houghton, owner and founder of Werk Emporium in Ulverston, has successfully opened the doors of her new shop in Chorlton.

The shop, another Werk Emporium, offers ethically traded, hand-selected fairtrade and clothing designed by Hannah and made with her team on site.

The business, on 21 Market Street, is now going to be managed by two local artists as Hannah will be moving to Chorlton, where she will be starting her new life with her partner and their children. The Mail: Werk Emporium in Ulverston.Werk Emporium in Ulverston. (Image: Submitted)

Hannah said: "I left my beloved shop in the more than capable hands of Cyd and Anne, both artists and creators who can also work from the shop on their businesses. They have done such an amazing job and I am eternally grateful for them

"Ulverston is my hometown, my roots and my community and I will always love the town and keep my shop with all its brightness it brings to the high street.

"I'm so grateful for all of the connections I've made through Werk Emporium and for the local community support and love that the special people of Ulverston bring."

Once Hannah's maternity came to an end she did not know how to move forward and what the future could hold for a possibility for Werk in Manchester - but she was soon able to find the right spot for her business.

"The most perfect place came up in the beautiful thriving suburb of Chorlton in Manchester with its independent shops, bars and cafes," she said.

"The community support, support from the local businesses and the welcome I have received here in Chorlton is so lovely and so inspiring and receiving comments like: 'This is just what we need in Chorlton' makes me feel like I'm going to fit in perfectly here in this community here and I can't wait to see what the future brings."
