Five Pride events have now been planned to take place throughout Cumbria across the year.

Cumbria Pride is celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2024 and is therefore looking to make it a year to remember, building upon the work they have been doing for over a decade.

On Tuesday, the latest offering was announced, in which 'Proud and Diverse Cumbria' will be taking over Whitehaven on August 3.

This will follow Furness Pride in Barrow on May 25, Kendal Pride over June 14-16 and Silloth Pride on June 29.

These festivals will be leading up to 15th anniversary celebrations on September 21 in Carlisle.

Away from these, there will also be an info day in Carlisle's city centre on June 2 and the 'Connect with Pride' event for those aged 18 or below in Penrith on May 18.

The organisers added that there would be plenty more to come as they try to make 2024 their biggest year yet.

Some of the regional events will also be marking their own milestones, such as Furness Pride, which is getting ready for its fifth edition.

Others, such as Kendal Pride, are still in their relative infancy, with the South Lakes festival looking to build upon its debut in 2023.
