DRAINAGE works are set to be completed on a lane previously affected by flooding.
Work is ongoing at Next Ness in Ulverston and was scheduled to be completed on Thursday, March 28 by the Westmorland and Furness Council.
Mayor Michelle Scrogham explained residents have 'struggled' for many years with flooding in this location.
They have told the Cllr that the workers appear to be doing a 'great job' putting in the pipes and have been 'really accommodating.'
The Cllr added: "Those working on site have told residents it will be at risk of silting up again in the future so will need monitoring and keeping clear to avoid this happening again.
"Flooding here has been a long-term intermittent problem but in recent years the flood would appear in autumn and remain through the winter, often too deep to drive through without risking damage to cars."
