Multiple clubs in and around Millom will be able to keep running thanks to recent financial backing.
In total, seven groups will be supported by the CGP Millom Town Council Trust Fund, with the news being shared on Thursday.
This followed a council meeting which took place on Wednesday, March 27 to assess the applications that had been put forward.
The societies being supported are: The Kepplewray Centre, Millom and Broughton Agricultural Society, Millom Amateur Operatic Society, Haverigg Nursery and the Clubbers, Haverigg Cricket Club, Millom Striders Running Club, and Millom Cricket Club.
The cheques that will provide a crucial influx of additional funds have already been sent out and will be with the groups in the next few days.
