CRIME maps have revealed there were 474 crimes carried out across Barrow in January this year.
The statistics taken from maps which pinpoint a precise location of a crime, have been collated from the Police UK website.
Barrow Central and Hindpool saw 191 offences committed.
Violence and sexual offences were the most popular crimes with 85 recorded. This was followed by 24 crimes for anti-social behaviour crimes and 19 shoplifting.
Other reported crimes were drugs (10), criminal damage and arson (10), public order (9), burglary (8), vehicle crime (8), other theft (6), other crime (5), possession of weapons (4), bicycle theft (2) and robbery (1).
Barrow Island and Walney saw 66 incidents recorded overall.
Similarly, the most reported crimes in this area were those in the violence and sexual offences category, totalling 36.
Other reported offences included criminal damage and arson (6), public order (6), anti-social behaviour (5), other theft (4), drugs (3), burglary (2), possession of weapons (2), robbery (1) and other crime (1).
The area of Parkside, Hawcoat and Ormsgill saw 91 crimes committed.
Violence and sexual offences were the most popular kind of crimes committed with 36 separate offences. Anti-social behaviour crimes totalled 21, whilst criminal damage and arson totalled 11.
Other reported crimes included public order (6), shoplifting (4), vehicle crime (4), other theft (4), drugs (2), burglary (1), robbery (1) and other crime (1).
Finally, the district of Salthouse, Newbarns and Roose saw a total of 126 crimes committed in January.
Crime maps showed there were 64 crimes for violence and sexual offences, 15 for anti-social behaviour and 12 for criminal damage and arson.
Other reported offences in the area included vehicle crime (7), public order (6), other crime (5), drugs (4), burglary (2) and bicycle theft (1).
