A student from Barrow has secured a place at one of the top colleges for theatre, music and performance in the country.
Chetwynde School pupil, Zofia Garbacz has successfully obtained a space at the prestigious Liverpool School of Performing Arts (LIPA).
The secondary school congratulated the year 11 student on her achievement.
Zofia is set to join Performing Arts schools for sixth form in September, to continue the next stage in her training after completing her GCSEs .
LIPA was set up by Sir Paul McCartney, and is world renowned as a leading provider of university level creative and performance training, with a portfolio of ambitious and popular courses.
Zofia's tutor Katherine Parkinson, who is Head of the Creative Faculty at Chetwynde School, said: "LIPA was Zofia’s first-choice and will give her the chance to work with all of the top teachers and directors in the industry.
“I'm sure everyone who has taught Zofia knows she has always been destined for the stage, but to gain a place at such a young age is a fantastic achievement.
“Her hard work has definitely paid off for the next stage in her training. She actually got into all of the colleges she has auditioned for but was keeping everything crossed she would get into her first choice.”
Zofia played the role of Belle in the school's recent production of Beauty and the Beast.
