A SOUTH Cumbria park will be hosting its first-ever Scarecrow Festival.

The scarecrows have been made and donated by local groups and charities and will be taking over the walled garden in Ford Park, with visitors invited to join.

Charities that have submitted scarecrows for the event include St. Mary’s Hospice, CancerCare, The Roxy, Mind in Furness and many more.

Whilst entry is free, donations to the charities involved are encouraged and can be made to the donation buckets, which will accompany each group’s scarecrow.

Ford Park will run the event from March 26 to April 8 until 5pm.

The park is home to many events throughout the year and also eight acres of green space, a walled garden and plant nursery, an inclusive play park, and most recently, a wildlife trail.
