A WOMAN was taken to hospital after being attacked by a dog.

Cumbria Police said the incident happened on Saturday, February 24 at 7pm and are appealing for information and witnesses.

The woman was walking her dog on the beach near Furness Golf Club when a medium-brown dog ran over and attacked her dog, said police.

The force said that she split them up but was bitten by the other dog on the arm. She needed hospital treatment.
