RENEWED calls have been made for residents to join the team at Walney Fire Station.
The station is currently recruiting for more on-call firefighters, with an open evening planned for Thursday, February 29 from 7pm until 9pm.
During the session, potential new recruits will get to meet members of the current crew and find out more information about what it means to be an emergency responder.
This follows an online session which took place on Thursday, February 15 in the effort of encouraging more people to come forward to join the teams at Barrow, Broughton and Coniston, as well as Walney.
The team at Broughton will be hosting their own open evening on Tuesday, February 27 from 7pm.
