COASTGUARD teams received a callout to assist the police with an incident on Walney Island.
Furness Coastguard and Millom Coastguard were paged and tasked yesterday at 5.23pm to assist Cumbria Police with an incident on Walney Island.
The incident was brought to a successful conclusion by the Police prior to the arrival of the search and rescue units.
A spokesperson for Furness Coastguard said: "If you find yourself or see someone else in difficulty around the coastline or on Windermere, Coniston, Derwentwater or Ullswater, CALL #999 and ask for the Coastguard."
