HERE's where Remembrance day services and parades will be held in south Cumbria on Sunday.

This is where you can go to pay respects.

BarrowBarrow Town Council encourages members of the public to attend the service, which will be conducted by Cannon Stephen Donnan, to be assisted by Reverend Stuart Silk and Reverend Dr Helen Hooley.

Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at the Town Hall at 10.15am to join the parade that will leave Town Square at 10.35am.

The service will commence at 10.56am at Barrow's cenotaph in Barrow Park.

After the service concludes, the parade will return to British Legion Headquarters on Holker Street.

Dalton

Dalton Community Church will hold a public service for residents and members of the public at around 9.30am on Sunday at St Mary's Parish Church with Rev Kate Hunt.

At 11am a service will be held at Dalton's cenotaph. 

Ulverston

The town council invites everybody to participate in the parade, attend the church service and join the War Memorial event.

On Saturday November 11, there will be a short act of Remembrance at the War Memorial from 10.50am to 11am led by the Royal British Legion.

On Sunday November 12 everybody is very welcome to take part in the parade, attend the church service and take part in the event at the War Memorial.

The parade starts at 2.15pm from the Royal British Legion on Brogden Street led by Ulverston Town Band.

The church service starts at 2.30pm and the parade reforms after the church service at 3.30pm and returns via Church Walk and King Street to the War Memorial where a short service and wreaths will be laid.

The parade will dismiss and march back to the Royal British Legion.

Millom

In Millom there will be a parade marching off from the Tin Chapel at 9.30am, moving to St Georges church for a 10am service on Remembrance Sunday.

The parade led by the Parade Marshall Mr Terry Marsh will reform after the religious service and march off to Millom Cenotaph.

Haverigg

On Sunday all organisations participating are being told to meet at the Harbour Hotel at 2.15pm where the parade will march off at 2.30pm.

The parade, led by the Parade Marshall Mr Terry Marsh, will then reach Haverigg Church Cenotaph at 2.45pm.

After the service light refreshments will be available in Haverigg Institute. 

Grange

The Remembrance Day Service, including one minute’s silence will be held at 11am on Saturday 11 November 2023 at the War Memorial in the Ornamental Gardens.

Remembrance Sunday on November 12 will be held at 2pm at the at St Paul’s Parish Church.

This will be followed by the Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial in the Ornamental Gardens.

The usual parade won’t take place due to police being unable to close the road. , Flookburgh Band will still be performing.

Everyone is asked to make their own way from the Church to the Ornamental Gardens, where Flookburgh Band will be playing.

Afterwards, all are welcome to come for refreshments at the Victoria Hall, Main Street, LA11 6DP.
