The AA has revealed the ultimate B&Bs across the country at their annual B&B awards - and a quaint Inn in Cumbria has been recognised as a cut above the rest.
Now in its 27th year, this year’s AA B&B Awards saw a team of AA inspectors recognise the best-of-the-best of the UK’s bed and breakfast scene.
Individuality, the standard of housekeeping and the all-important breakfast were just some areas the experts used to decide the winners.
Categories include “Friendliest B&B of the Year”, “Inn of the Year”, and “Breakfast of the Year”. This year’s winners represent every corner of the UK, from Swansea to Cumbria.

The Punch Bowl Crosthwaite, Cumbria is an old Lake District Inn, nestled in the hills above Windermere with award-winning, locally sourced food.
An inspector for AA had high praise for The Punch Bowl indeed, commenting: "Located in the stunning Lyth Valley alongside the village church, the historic Punch Bowl Inn has excellent standards of comfort and facilities.
"Its sumptuous bedrooms have a wealth of thoughtful extras, and imaginative food is served in the elegant restaurant or in the rustic-style bar with its open fires. A warm welcome and professional service are assured."
Boasting a high rating of 4.6 stars out of 554 reviews on Google reviews, the comments section was rife with glowing appraisals.

One user said: "We ate here for our anniversary meal and we were not disappointed in the standards. The food was top notch every dish was fantastic. Well presented and great flavour combinations.
"The staff were very friendly and helpful nothing was pushed it was a very relaxed atmosphere. I can see how the staff and food are award winning. It'd definitely worth a visit.
"Food & drinks: Top quality food and drink served with excellent service."
Another remarked: "Located in a beautiful spot in the Lyth valley. Starter mushroom soup was exquisite. The guinea fowl main was superb. Staff brilliant. An all round great dining experience to top off a great trip to the Lakes".
