THE Lake District Country Hotels named ‘Accommodation provider of the Year’ at UKinbound’s Awards for Excellence

UKinbound, a leading travel trade association that represents over 340 of the UK’s top tourism businesses, awarded Lake District Country Hotels the accolade of Accommodation provider of the Year at its Awards for Excellence event.

The award was presented in front of over 275 tourism and hospitality professionals at the annual Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner, which took place at the Beach Ballroom in Aberdeen.

Following self-nomination, the winners were decided by a panel of independent judges from across the tourism industry - Kurt Janson, director, Tourism Alliance; Helen Bowron, communications director, Coach Tourism Association; and Dr Karen Thomas, director, Tourism and Events Research Hub, Canterbury Christ Church University.

Joss Croft, CEO UKinbound said: “Our industry has worked incredibly hard over the last 12 months and our Awards for Excellence recognise and celebrate the companies and organisations that have made a significant contribution to the continuing success of the sector, and we were delighted to name Lake District Country Hotels Accommodation Provider of the Year.

"The judges loved the winner’s focus on sustainability and wider corporate social responsibility.

"They demonstrated a real care for staff during the pandemic, and also worked outside their own business on lobbying and advocacy for the sector.

Joe Cobb, the Hotel Groups Executive Manager said “We are delighted that our hotel group has been recognised as ‘Accommodation Provider of the Year’ in the UK.

"We believe that our hotels offer that quintessential English country house experience of warm service and award-winning food coupled with charming, historical buildings and lovely gardens, so to be awarded by such a body is wonderful news for our team.”

The Awards for Excellence were presented during the association’s Annual Convention which took place at P&J Live in Aberdeen on September 28 and 29 .

The event featured an influential line-up of speakers including Amar Latif.
