IT was revealed last week that X Factor contestant Alan Turner told porkies on the show last week.
But come on, what do the producers expect? If they are going to give airtime and sympathy votes to the performers who have the saddest stories, then the wannabes are going to realise if their talents won’t get them through, their tales of woe will.
This blatant emotional manipulation of viewers has to stop.
If the show bigwigs really feel that they have to feature attention–seeking tragedies to get the ratings, then they should at least make them real and relevant. Did you hear the one about the 30-something, mediocre ex-pop singer who’s overdone the Botox?
