A COUNCILLOR nominated for a national award missed out on overall victory.
Mark Wilson, who represents Ulverston at town, district and county level, made the shortlist for Community Champion at the Councillor of the Year Award.
The awards were run by the Local Government Information Unit think tank.
Cllr Wilson lost out on the award to Cllr Dr Mahamed Hashi , of Lambeth Council in London.
Judges included council leaders and local authority chief executives.
