1 MONSTER Monster stages a Hallowe’en Rave at Ulverston’s Coronation Hall tonight (Saturday). Headline act is DJ A.Skillz, a true party rocker behind the turntables, captivating crowds with his ability to embrace all aspects of music that he takes inspiration from and mash them up into a unique cocktail. He is known for mixing a wide range of genres, blending together hip hop, soul, electro and rock with breakbeats, jungle and drum and bass, all infused with his own signature flavour of funk. 2 THE North’s hardest working comedy band, The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican, are heading to The Beggar’s Theatre at Millom tonight (7.30pm). Hailing from Barnsley Rock City in South Yorkshire, Scott, Bjorn and Alan have a talent for Bar-Stewardising other famous people’s songs with new comedy lyrics, on acoustic guitar, ukulele, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, accordion and keyboard. The Doonicans are instantly recognisable, with their immaculate hair and their stylish choice of knitwear. 3 STRICTLY Come Dancing’s charismatic Brendan Cole takes to The Forum at Barrow stage on Monday, October 29 (7.30pm), to wow audiences with his latest spectacular, All Night Long. For his 10th anniversary tour, Brendan is joined by his sensational cast of guest dancers, captivating leading lady and superbly talented 14-piece band and singers, to whip up an extravagant mix of Latin fever and ballroom magic. From tantalising tango to fiery paso doble, elegant foxtrot to breathtaking waltz – and with a few surprises in store – this will be no ordinary dance show. 4 FOR fans of the ukulele, there’s a Ukes for Life! extravaganza being staged at the Bryce Institute, Burneside, near Kendal, next Saturday, November 3 (7.30pm). A fundraiser for North West Air Ambulance, the line-up includes the popular Bryce Street Strummers, UnTethered - a fusion of instruments and voices taking a new look at popular and traditional songs - and a number of other local ukulele groups such as Garstang Ukes, Jukebox Lukuleles and Garstang Ukes, performing 20 minute spots, interspersed with general audience ‘strumalongs’ from music projected onto a big screen. 5 MULTI award-winning vocal outfit Sons of Pitches are out and about on a UK tour with their new show 100 Number One Hits.

Included in the Sons set are fast paced medleys and mind bending mashups as the boys attempt to hit their tuneful target of 100 legendary tracks in just one evening.
