A south Cumbria MP will join hundreds of campaigners in anti-fracking protest today.
Tim Farron, the Westmorland and Lonsdale MP, will gather with other objectors at Preston New Road in Lancashire to protest the decision to allow fracking to start on the site.
Last week the energy company Cuadrilla was given the go-ahead to start work at there following a failed High Court bid by campaigners to block fracking due to safety concerns.
Mr Farron said: “Fracking is not the solution to our energy problems.
"It is a threat to our countryside and environment and does nothing to help us tackle climate change.
“We should be moving towards a low carbon future based on renewable energy, not increasing our reliance on dirty fossil fuels.”
