STRING quartet Bowjangles will be bringing their most magical show so far to Wreay and Orton village halls at the end of this month. The show is a theatrical, musical journey through myths, folklore, legends and a portal in a cello case in the quest to find the most priceless relic of all - a magical violin bow known as Excalibow.

Bowjangles combine virtuoso string quartet performance with classy vocals, hilarious comedy and energetic dance moves in show that uses almost every style of music. Audiences can expect tales of monsters, ancient gods, historical figures and characters of pure fantasy with an evening that takes string quartet performance to a whole new dimension.

Cellist Ezme, viola player, Bertie and violinists Ed and Mitch deliver their show with fiery musicianship, rousing songs and four part harmonies, and according to some at this summer’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, have a "gift for physical comedy".

So, join Bowjangles in their quest for Excalibow in a night of singing, dancing, cabaret, comedy, magic and, of course, music, which may contain traces of Abba.

Bowjangles appear as part of Highlights Rural Touring Scheme.

Sally Seed, volunteer promoter at Orton, said that Bowjangles had toured with Highlights before. "Their reputation goes before them and both Cumbrian venues are looking forward to a great night of music with a difference."

Bowjangles play Wreay Village Hall, near Carlisle, on Saturday, October 27 (7.30pm, bookings 016974-75309) and the day after (Sunday, October 28, 7.30pm, 015396-24732) Orton Market Hall.
