MILLOM will be taking a step back in time on Sunday, October 28, to find out what life was like for townsfolk during the First World War.
The Mail's nostalgia writer Bill Myers will be giving a presentation, which covers everything from food shortages and the search for foreign spies, to alcohol restrictions and new wartime jobs for women.
Feel free to wear period costume for this event at the Tin Chapel pensioners' centre, on the corner of Mainsgate Road, from 3pm.
There will be a display of wartime items and an afternoon tea.
Tickets, costing £5, can be booked by calling 01229 778189.
