Specialist manufacturer Oxley Group has appointed a master distributor in its key overseas market of Germany.

Munich-based electronics specialist Astute will represent the Ulverston firm across its range of high-specification products, which include LED indicators and interconnect, EMI filters and filtered connectors, assembles and planar arrays.

The Astute team – which has a strong presence in the aerospace and defence sectors – will offer Oxley customers in Germany technical support as well as accompanying services. The wider Astute Group has more than 30 years-worth of experience and operates a 160-strong team across nine countries.

Garry North, Oxley Group chief executive, said the appointment was an important step for the company, which recently welcomed Northern Powerhouse Minister Jake Berry during a whistle-stop tour of Cumbria.

He said: “Germany is a key market for Oxley. We’re delighted to partner with Astute as this will ensure our customers in Germany receive the best possible service in terms of product expertise, design support and delivery.”

Oxley Group, based at Priory Park, secured a number of big contract wins in the past year, including work for the south Korean and Indonesian air forces.

Earlier this year, it secured a place on the Government’s Sharing in Growth programme, which aims to boost productivity and productivity and competitiveness in the aerospace sector.

Oxley Group aims to double turnover after five years and treble turnover after 10 years of working with programme’s business transformation experts.

This growth will also see the creation of a number of new jobs.
