People facing cancer in Barrow are set to benefit from funds raised through a special gin tasting night.
The event, held at Barrow Golf Club on Saturday, raised a total of £925.50 to help cancer victims.
Rachel Minshull, CancerCare’s Barrow Development Officer, organised the event in her own time.
She said: "CancerCare receives most of its money from fundraising.
"When people help to raise funds with an event like this, it allows our services to continue.”
More than 100 people braved treacherous conditions to attend the gin tasting evening.
Mrs Minshull said the funds raised will be used to pay for therapy services for people coping with cancer in Barrow, Ulverston and surrounding areas.
She explained: “The money raised will enable local people affected by cancer and other life shortening conditions to continue to access our free services.
“There was a mixture of people who attended.
"The mayor and mayoress of Barrow came along with their daughters and their partners.
She added: “A few of our clients came along with family and friends.
"Our therapists from Barrow brought friends with them, as well as local people wanting to help out.
"It was a great evening."
Mrs Minshull has thanked everyone who attended and help raise money for CancerCare.
