TOP young singers from school year five up to school year 13 have the opportunity to start something amazing this autumn, as the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain’s annual auditions tour stops in Cumbria on Sunday, November 18.

There will be auditions in Carlisle in the morning, while in the afternoon a limited number of ‘virtual audition’ slots will allow talented singers living in or near Kendal to attend an audition centre there and audition via Skype to the panel in Carlisle.

Auditions are free of charge to children receiving free school meals.

Also, NYCGB has a generous Financial Assistance Scheme to support successful auditionees with all ongoing costs of membership.

If successful, candidates will be given a place in NYCGB’s outstanding National Youth Boys’ Choir, National Youth Girls’ Choir or National Youth Training Choir.

They will then get to take part in up to two residential courses in 2019 with world-class teaching, training and performance opportunities.

Recent highlights for the choirs have included appearances at the Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Town Hall, an outdoor appearance at Beamish Museum in County Durham, and even a Bollywood-style music video.

Booking is online via NYCGB’s website where all further information about the auditions can also be found: www.nycgb.org.uk/audition
