1. The Townhouse, Dalton Road, Barrow. Readers loved The Townhouse's selection of pizza making it a firm favourite for a pizza treat in Barrow.

2. Capuleti e Montecchi, Dalton Road, Barrow. Another town centre venue hailed for serving "beautiful pizzas".

3. Sizzle In, Cavendish Street, Barrow. This venue was praised for offering a variety of mouth-watering dishes such as burgers, chicken, desserts, kebab as well as other favourites.

4. Kitchen Wizard, Tudor Square, Dalton. Kitchen Wizard has been a takeaway in Dalton for more than 28 years. It is well loved for using only the freshest ingredients to create homemade pizzas and burgers. The Mail readers have given the venue's pizzas the thumbs ups as well as describing the burgers as "incredible".

5. Flames Pizzeria, New Market Street, Ulverston. Hailed for its stuffed crust Mail readers described Flames pizzas as "yummy". Diane Hardy said on Facebook: "They even do stuffed crust and will deliver. All the food is yummy from there."

6. Bici Cafe, The Gill, Ulverston. The Italian cafe got plenty of votes with many readers praising the chef's "proper Italian pizza". As well as the food many readers loved the venue's atmosphere.

7. Pizzarella, Promenade, Walney. Relatively new to the takeaway scene, the pizzas at Pizzarella have been setting tongues waging. The takeaway not only does but also serves pretty good chicken wings.

8. Marmaris Grill, Duke Street, Barrow. This takeaway was a popular choice among Mail reviewers because of its town centre location. It is a perfect place for a bite to eat after enjoying a night at Barrow's nightspots.

9. Santa Marina, Buccleuch Street, Barrow. A small pizzeria offering good quality pizza and pasta dishes. One reader said: "Despite being a take away, this place easily surpasses what's on offer from the Italian restaurants in Barrow."

10. CK's Pizza and Kebab, Market Square, Millom. A favourite in Millom, Mail readers said what they love the most about CK's is its long opening hours and varied menu. It is great for kebabs and burgers as well as pizzas.

11. WILDCARDS: Supermarket pizzas. While the South Cumbria takeaways were praised for their exceptional pizza offering many Mail readers also said 'make your own' pizzas at Asda, Tesco and Morrisons were also a good choice.
