A COUNCILLOR has been raised for his community work after being nominated for a national award.
Mark Wilson, who represents Ulverston on Cumbria County Council and is also the member for the town's East ward for Ulverston Town Council and South Lakeland District Council, has been shortlisted for a prize at the Councillor Achievement Awards.
Cllr Wilson has been nominated in he Community Champion category of the awards, which are run by the Local Government Information Unit.
Jonathan Carr-West, chief xxecutive of LGIU said: “We received nearly 200 nominations for the 2018 Councillor Achievement Awards, so it’s a huge achievement to be shortlisted. The shortlisted councillors went above and beyond the call of duty in 2018, making a real difference to their residents.”
