A CUMBRIAN charitable trust is on the look-out for a new executive officer.

The Sir John Fisher Foundation, established in 1979, supports people and causes throughout the UK, but with special regard to those based in and around Barrow-in-Furness.

Last year, it made grants or commitments to charitable causes in the region of £2.5 million.

Following the retirement of the foundation secretary, the decision has been made to create the full-time post of executive officer, with a salary of between £50,000 and £60,000 per annum.

A spokesman said: “We are looking for someone who is dynamic, equally comfortable acting as an ambassador for us in the local and the national charity sectors, and is strategic in their approach to delivering our priorities.”

Applications close on Monday, October 8 and anyone interested in applying for the position should email sirjohnfisherfoundation.org.uk
