POLICE have started a week-long crackdown on crime in Barrow by arresting two people.
Officers took to the streets for the county-wide Week of Acion to target some of the town's crime hotspots in an operation that resulted in the arrest of a man after 20 minutes on the beat.
Neighbourhood Inspector Jim Bailey visited a house which had been the subject of complaints about anti-social behaviour, telling residents it would not be tolerated.
In a separate incident, at 2.45pm, a man, 18, was arrested on suspicion of public disorder and police assault.
