A NEW South Lakes business networking event will be launched next month.

The Big Furness Gathering takes place on Wednesday October 3 and will see local businesses coming together at The Abbey House Hotel on Abbey Road in Barrow for breakfast, speakers and networking.

The event is designed to bring together local businesses who will enjoy a full English breakfast, followed by keynote speakers, an inspirational speaker and round table networking.

“Networking is essential to growing your business and increasing your brand locally,” says Suzanne Edgley, one of the event organisers.

“Businesses are travelling across the county to access networking events such as LA23 in Bowness, 4N in Kendal and as far as Carlisle for the ambassador meetings.

“There are some amazing businesses in Furness and we need an event that can bring them together.

“Our focus is on working together to boost our local economy.”

The launch event will see keynote talks from Sophie Bennet and Donna Dacre, of Furness Media, Alison Ashton and Kimberley Hadwin, of the Cumbria Training Centre and Suzanne and John Edgley, from thebestof.

Dan Webber, founder of Kick Off 4 will also speak at this launch event. Dan has raised thousands of pounds for charity over the last couple of years. Delegates will then have an opportunity to network. Registration is from 8.30am with breakfast at 9am and the event closes at 12.30pm.Visit https://tinyurl.com/y794yp2r
