POTENTIAL buyers for a trio of land parcels in South Lakeland have until Friday (September 28) to get their offers in.

H&H Michael CL Hodgson announced the closing date for offers on Lord’s Lot, located Crosthwaite.

Lord’s Lot enjoys fine views over the Winster Valley and towards the Lake District fells. It consists of a ring-fenced block extending to circa 262 acres of grazing and amenity land, with considerable potential for sporting activity. It has played host to the local sport of clay pigeon and game shooting.

The land is currently farmed by the vendor with a third party leasing it for corporate clay pigeon shoots, and game shooting with man-made flighting ponds.

Mark Barrow, associate and chartered Surveyor with H&H Michael C L Hodgson, said: “Lord’s Lot has created a lot of interest since we announced the sale to the market. The purpose of the deadline is to focus that interest. This is a considerable sized block of land for this area, with excellent roadside access. Lord’s Lot offers useful grazing land for local farmers, with plenty of amenity potential.

“Land in Cumbria is highly sought after, and Lord’s Lot is within the Lake District National Park UNESCO world heritage site. Lot 1 has been previously recognised by Natural England as a habitat for the rare fritillary butterfly, adding to its Heritage Site appeal.

“This provides a good opportunity for nearby landowners or those looking to own their own piece of the Lake District, and of course, for individuals looking to continue the sporting potential of the site.”
