POLICE are investigating an incident of sheep worrying in that took place in Haverigg yesterday (September 18).
A dog, thought to be a German Shepherd/Husky cross, was reported to be worrying sheep in a field near Sandham Lane at around 3pm.
The dog ran off as the farmer tried to control it.
Anyone with any information regarding this dog and the owner of the dog are asked to contact police on 101.
A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: "People are reminded to keep their dogs under control near live stock to prevent injury and are also reminded that dogs out of control and worrying livestock can be shot by the farmer to protect livestock."
