BUSINESSES are invited to attend Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership’s annual general meeting as work progresses of the county’s Local Industrial Strategy.

The open event is an opportunity to hear updates on activities undertaken by the strategic economic body, and also hear the latest on Cumbria’s emerging Local Industrial Strategy – a key document that will map out the county’s economic priorities through to the 2030s.

Cumbria LEP is encouraging companies and organisations in the public, voluntary and community sector partners to attend the event, which takes place on Friday, September 28 at its Conference and Business Centre in Redhills, Penrith, from 1.30pm.

Cumbria LEP chair Lord Inglewood said: “We warmly invite businesses, public, voluntary and community sector partners to attend the AGM.

“It’s an opportunity for attendees to hear from the chair, board members and the leadership team about our activities and achievements in the last 12 months, including an update on the Local Industrial Strategy, skills initiatives like the new careers hub and employer panels, and changes to the way we operate.

"There will also be plenty of discussion about our future plans to work with partners to take forward economic growth, productivity and prosperity.

"Delivering an effective new Local Industrial Strategy will be crucial to this.”
