A 'MYSTERY' substance poured on to a car in Bowness on Windermere caused hundreds of pounds of damage, police said.
Officers have launched an investigation after criminal damage was caused to a Black Audi A1 as it was parked in St Martins Parade.
The incident was said to have occurred between the hours of 7pm on Saturday August 25 and and 11pm on Sunday August 27.
A Cumbria Police spokesman urge anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
he said: "We are investigating an incident in which an unknown substance was poured on to a Black Audi A1 causing damage to the vehicle.
"If anyone witnessed or has any information regarding the incident they should contact police on 101 quoting log reference 270 of 30th August."
