Man denies danger dog charge

A 36-YEAR-OLD man will face trial after pleading not guilty to a charge of being in charge of a dog which injured a nine-year-old boy.

Darren Anthony Smith, of Broughton Road, Dalton, appeared at Furness Magistrates’ Court accused of being in charge of a dog which was dangerously out of control in a public place in Dalton in July 23 and that whilst so out of control it injured the boy.

Smith elected to be tried at the crown court.

Presiding magistrate Mr Mike Halshaw adjourned the case until January 13 at Furness Magistrates’ Court and allowed Smith unconditional bail.
