Additions to forest masts

ADDITIONS to the Grizedale telecommunications mast have been approved by Lake District National Park planners.

National Grid Wireless applied to install a satellite dish and two yagi antennae fixed to new supporting steelwork. They also proposed to remove apparatus and install new equipment inside the equipment building, and to strengthen the mast.

The 27.5m high lattice tower and a cluster of four other units houses equipment for various service providers, including Vodafone.

The changes need to be made to help the forthcoming Digital Switchover Project from analogue to digital television.
