Staff at the library, on Nelson Street, will be offering people the chance to find out about a range of free courses being offered during the following week.

Saturday’s event is part of the Family Learning Festival, a campaign aiming to highlight the importance families can have in each other’s learning.

The event takes place tomorrow between 10am and noon.

Courses are aimed mainly at parents but grandparents and carers are welcome too.

Courses range from learning how to bring books and reading to life, art and crafts making, learning how to improve your family’s health, and family literacy, numeracy and IT courses.

Courses lasting 30 hours include family literacy, family numeracy, family finance and adult education.

Refreshments will be available and a number of other activities will take place on Saturday, including a children’s craft session.
