THE front of the third Astute class submarine being built by BAE in Barrow is due to be moved along Bridge Road tomorrow.A MAN has been charged after an alleged fail to stop accident.

Astute chunk on the move

The large section of the future HMS Artful will be taken on a special lowloader from the New Assembly Shop in Bridge Road to the Devonshire Dock Hall.

The move is scheduled for seven minutes from 2.15pm and all approach roads to the area will be closed to traffic.

Body identified

A WOMAN found dead at a Barrow house at the weekend has been named.

Margaret Creighton, 68, was discovered at a house in Highfield Road, Barrow, early on Saturday.

Police were alerted by a member of the public.

A post-mortem examination was carried out yesterday and she was found to have died from natural causes.

Motorist charged

Cumbria police have charged Marcus Howarth, 23, of The Heads, Grange, with failure to stop at the scene of a collision and failure to report a collision. He will appear before South Lakeland magistrates on August 26.
