A SOUTH Lakeland holiday company is hoping for a gardening gold at the most prestigious flower show in the north.
South Lakeland Parks – owner of White Cross Bay Holiday Park at Windermere – has commissioned two horticultural experts to build a show garden for the RHS Tatton Flower Show this week.
Alison Ryan, of Designs in Gardens, and Jane McNeela, of Outside Alive, will create the showpiece on behalf of the company for the event set to start today.
The pair, both garden design tutors at Myerscough Agricultural College, in Preston, have worked on the design, along with Alastair Watson, White Cross Bay manager, for six months.
Named the Cool Garden, the entry will feature water, colour and open space for family use.
A special feature will be tall Italian cypress trees and box balls in various sizes.
Caroline Guffogg, South Lakeland Parks marketing manager, said: “Alison and Jane have put a great deal of effort into creating a garden with a real wow factor which we believe showcases our holiday lodges to potential visitors and will be certain to impress the judges.”
