SOME of our readers have expressed worries regarding door-to-door salesmen preying on older members of society.
To prevent signing up for something you are not sure you want, Consumer Direct have provided the following advice.
“Consumers should make sure the caller identifies themselves correctly and make a note of any details they are given.
“If you feel under any pressure or feel unsafe, tell them you want more time to think about it or need to discuss it with a partner or relative.
“Do not sign anything unless you know what you are agreeing to and above all, never forget it is your right to say ‘No’.”
